I blew the tranny in my ram 1500, have been doin some research and found out if ya get a gas 3/4 5 speed its a direct bolt in with no issues. Has anyone done this?

I have a rebuilder out of Edmonton that has a rebuilt NV4500 for $1300, considering the auto wrecker wanted $1500 for a used one thats not to bad. It does not include a bellhousing, a call to Dodge and its $180 but not sure how long it will take to get he said.

So if I go that route ill still be just under an auto wrecker used tranny for a rebuilt beefier one.

From my readings the cummins and V10 had a different bellhousing and input and output shaft so they wont work but a 5.9L gas one is a direct bolt in.

Anyone know of an auto wrecker around that I might be able to get a gas 5.9L bellhousing from?

Thanks guys, have to wait a little for some cash, and not completely sure if Ill just go stock and sell the truck, or upgrade and keep it.

Kinda gettin tired of fixing the light half ton crap, but would prob be cheaper to just buy a 3/4 ton and lift it then swap all running gear into my 1/2 ton.

I got a 92 ram 2500 was going to use it and swap my body from my 75 on it to get some beefier axles and a cab that has wiring lol.

I was under it and noticed it has the NV4500 which everything I find sais it wasnt offered in Dodge until 94 with the new style. It has a magnum 5.2 same as my 01 will the tranny work in my 01? If I pull the tranny will my np435 from my 75 bolt up to the newer np241 transfer case, or would I have to take the old fulltime case?

Sorry guys lots of questions, seems like more work then its worth for a truck that I keep busting anyways. They just dont build em like they used to.

On a side note will 15" rims clear a 92 ram 3/4 ton d44 front brakes? Anyone have an old set of 15" 8 bolts kickin around for cheep?

something went on my 96 2500 ram its a diesel though, sounds like its injector pump timing but I dont know how to fix it, just gonna sell it as is, $3000 it has a 2 year old hdnv4500 5 speed, new clutch but that prob wouldnt ork for ya, everything would swap but would need a bellhousing and change input shafts or get a special clutch. Front diff needs tlc tie rods are getting loose, and balljoints but still wearing tires fine.

Its in cranbrook though, and would need a powerfull vehicle to pull her back there its heavy. Supercab longbox.
