just took my 82 out for a rip to stave but before i could even get to the FSR i was getting mad surging... i have a weber carb and new fuel lines and new fuel pump... could the tank not be venting properly any suggestions

ps this happend after driving about a steady 80kmh along dewdney and eventually it just stalled itself out. it idles good but under load it didnt want to move. i cleaned out my inline fuel filter and also opened the gas tank cover and closed it again this seemed to help and i got it home alright.

So would the steady driving load create a vaccuum in the tank and starve the engine of fuel if there is something obstructing my vent line?

There could be too much pressure in the tank.

I would guess that there is water in the float bowl.

Really stupid test but it works, take the gas cap off and cover it with a plastic bag and elastic and go for a drive, if it dosent so it u may have a plug in the vent line somewhere,
