hey just wondering if anyone has seen this done a 3b diesel in a 88 4runner? Because i have a 4runner and i got a line on a bj 60 from my uncle for a good price do to rust! So just wondering if anyoine has seen this done. Also if it has any pros/cons and problems that they ran into along the way?

I've seen it done and running but its not a easy swap its a tall motor and although they are both toyotas driveline wise they are very different

:D naw wont fit trade ya 22re for it so i kan put it in my 4runner:D doh
had 82 pu 4x4 with one in it not fast 22re 410s 33s would out pull it

that may be a good thing i can bring the height of my front end a bit and remove my 1.5 block in the back!

With the 3B motor you can only run a LandCruiser trans, you have a limited choice of tranny,s.
Basiclly a 4spd or the 5spd, this also limits you to the LandCruiser split Tcase which has the offset output (a good case).
So now you must either get an adapter to run some other Tcase or run an offset rear diff.

Use the landcruiser frame & axles, and put the 4Runner body on it. That's just about what it boils down to.

You're welcome to pop by some evening or weekend. Make sure we have diagram handy and we should be able to make it work.
The diagram that came with the hids would also be handy to have.
