in my opinion you should upgrade to 35 spline shafts same time as you get a detroit
I would go further to say upgrade from the d60 all together if it is still in the ford fullsize truck
a rear dif is very cheap to buy a core
now is a good time to hit the wreckers for a 90s van dif with disc brakes

I have a d60 30 spline with detroit. also broken the stock shafts in it and had to replace them with yukons. I couldnt find a 4340 shaft for it.
I am keeping it around in case I wanna full width a ranger or other smaller vehicle in the future

:D get a sterling then you dont need to change axles
drums slip on and makes 60 look like 10 bolt
if you can break it[h]

either or of these makes way better sense or a 14 bolt don't waste your cash on half ass ;)

a locker doesnt cost any more for a good dif then for a crappy one
so why not drop an extra $50-200 for a good dif and then put the locker in it?
not sure what a good deal on ebay would be for a locker

it doesnt take much to break a d60 30 spline
add a locker, 35s and wheel it = snapped axles
shafts are same size as d44 front stuff and they break at about the same level

Just check out my thread 78' F150 Projekt on Ford Discussions, a shitload of work and tuning, a lot of planning, and the right parts got my 300 to put out 276 HP
