View Full Version : 3-link question

Just wondering...
In a 3-link set up, does the track bar have to be mounted to the axle at the opposite end as the top link if the top link is off-center? Does it make any difference other than interferance between the two (which I think could be remedied by simply radiusing the mounts away from one another)?

whats most important is that the drag link and trak bar are at the same angle and approximately same lenght. the more different they are the worse the bump steer will be.

Noted. So theoretically, I'd be okay running my top link on the passenger side to aviod interferance with the drive shaft and exhaust, so long as I ensure as close to matching drag link and track bar angles and lengths as possible?

This seems like it would make my top link MUCH easier to deal with. I was just worried that I'd have to run my track bar mounted to the axle on the driver side.

i have heard that your supposed to put it on the diff side (upper link).. but i still have never understood why.
