why you want a yellowtop?

that place where you got that brake line, performance parts plus sells red tops for reasonable price, they could prolly get ya a yellow top if ya want, but red tops are better IMO, i got 3 red tops from them, 2 800CCA reds and a 1200 CCA red top for 400 bucks,

The yellow tops are a deeper cycle than red tops. The yellow top is kinda a combo of a deep cycle (marine batt) and a starting battery. This battery works good for long time drain devices such as if you run them a lot with a winch or off road lights. No matter how good your charging system a winch ALWAYS draw more power than your vehicle can supply so the yellow top would be better in a situation like this. Something like if you go camping and leave the stereo or a bunch of lights on this would be a good battery.

+ I've also heard that running a red top dead too many times and it'll fail to keep a charge whereas a yellow top can be drained repeatedly and charged up with no ill effects.

Federal battery in richmond has them. I got my last one for $80 Stores get the optimas they can only keep them on there shelves for 3 months then federal gets them. All batterys are DIRT cheap there.

Most of there take back are about 25% of retail. They have a shit load of battery boxes too.

I bought two differnt yellow tops from two differct costco's and they were both depleated.. They cost $200

I check them at work and at Polar Batt close to CMBC (we go there for batt stuff)

I WILL NEVER BUY FROM COSTCO AGAIN.

Apparenty there are two grades of optimas, the ones from costco are off shore, the ones that cost more are actual optimas.

I bought a third one fom B &J auto, it cost me $ 260, but has not let me down.

Just my 2 Cents.

optima is junk

I've heard both.
some people have bad luck with optimas.

i've had great luck with mine, 5 years old, drained dead often. winch like a mother.

but i've heard of people having them for 6 months and they are done.
