Looks like a nice 62 series, will have to come check it out.
While i was on the island i asked about that 4.5ltr 1FZ-FE TWIN CAM motor.
If you are interested you can have the motor, trans, t case, computer and wiring harness for $1500.oo.
Short of the diesel, this would be cool under your hood.

I will burn you a chassis manual, the only motor manual i have is for the 3B, but i will find you one.

Pm me if you need the engine of chassie FSMs for your cruiser. I have every cruiser fsm from frame to tranny.

Nice score dont bother changing out the engine that is reliable but just loves to drink gas like 24 liters per 100km

Just pulled the valve cover...
And bad news.

I don't see anything wrong.:(

Other than a lot of carbon.
There was exhaust coming out of the oil filler cap when I opened it though.

barracuda
02-05-2010, 10:23 PM
throw the compression tester at it with and without a squirt in the cylinders that should give you an idea as to ring conditions.

Itll at least give ring condition and valve sealing indications.

I believe it is a valve in the #4 hole, that cyl has 40psi and there's exhaust coming from the oil filler cap.
There is clearance under the rockers for that cyl and no broken springs.
I wanna pull the whole head off to see under it but all the hoses and stuff have me worried as to getting it back together properly.
I'm thinking of taking a thousand pictures of everything so I can refer back.

ya been there done that

FZJ80
02-05-2010, 11:21 PM
I was under the impression the motor didn't run, i guess i heard wrong.
If you still got the rocker box off you could turn it over by hand till both valves for # 1 cyl are closed, blow compressed air down the plug hole of that cylinder and listen to where it exits from, intake, exhaust, or past the rings & out through the open rocker cover. Do the same for the other 5 cyl. It should give you a quick and dirty idea as to the health of the motor.

FZJ80

By the by, even if the motor turns out to be usable only as a boat anchor you still scored large.

so the motor is in, waiting on a gasket - only one available at lordco and it's on the island> give me a break!

in the mean time, I bought some cleaner for the inside.. todd was adamant that it would make no difference but I do believe he's changed his mind...
he's decided I need to finish the whole upper part so it all matches...

seat covers are next, and some interior detailing

It's the timing port in the bellhousing that's pissin me off. and it doesn't matter how I adjust it by ear it runs like crap and is stinky.
I don't even want to waste the money at aircare knowing it's not gonna pass.:ballsmack

I would think that it wouldnt be that hard, the frames are similarish. Definately would need to do some customizing. But it would be a fuckin incredible rig! Cummins+beef 3 sp auto, twin sticked 205, d60 fr and d70 r (locked). Some 37's-38's. FUCK, YEAH!! [36]

Pistonbroke for doing up the exhaust.
Specific Rebuilders for figuring out the electrical.
My boss for letting me tow this thing all over town.

Well now you can come over and yank the filler from this one.
Paul came over and we threw in a pair of batteries.
Turned over for about a minute and it fired right up, just about shit!
Dumped in $10.00 in diesel, some conditioner , screwed on a new fuel filter, bled the clutch and went for a drive.
This engine runs saweet, now i don't know if i will sell it or not at 238,ooo kms it's just broken in.
