I've got an 06 ram 2500 quad cab 4x4, 5.7L auto with 138k. The check engine light came on a few days ago and the truck wouldn't take off in first or shift into OD untill freeway speed, it also shifted very hard at a much higher rpm than normal. Mysteriously the problem fixed itself and the light went out...now it's back to it's usual smooth shifting...Anyone have any ideas on what could cause this.

Well, It was too good to be true, my self fixing Dodge unfixed itself... Check engine light came on again and whala.....no overdrive and sometimes no first or it wouldn't make up it's mind whether it wanted to be in second or drive.
Took it to the trany shop and had it checked out, turnes out the speed control sensor is shot. Sensor and service 300 bux....
I guess I should be happy it's nothing serious but why is it that every time I have an extra buck or two for toys somthing breaks....:mad0217:
