:dontknow: yup... costs around 20 bucks per hundred km in my 92 yj. with the 35 boggers and 4:10's. you can stretch that a bit if you use the shift light. lol

A friend of mine has one with the 5sp, and he is getting 25mpg with it. He switched out to synthetic fluids front to back and he claims he picked up 5mpg.

I thought my mileage had gone into the toilet, turned out I was just drivin more! My 4.0 is the same as everyone elses. And I find it a bit of a strech to regain 5mpg just by synth fluids.

find the sweet spot, 4L's like to travel around 2100rpm for optimum fuel economy, thats usually around 112km/hr on the highway, so dont go any faster.. and if its an auto, learn how to manipulate the gas peddle, so the RPM stays around 2000 when accelerating away from a light, letting off before it shifts and stuff.. once you learn how it shifts, and watch the peddle, keeping the rpm the same, its amazing how much MPG you can get (my moms is an auto, and I do this so I dont have to spend money on gas)

if its a stick, cruise at 1500rpm when you are driving less than 80kmph, and watch how much peddle you use, shifting too low RPM can be a problem too, because it takes more gas to accel the jeep when doing 1000rpm VS 1500rpm..

i get 400-450 combined in my jeep, even with the stroker.. highway only i get awesome, if I watch the way I drive i can get over 500km..

82 toyota 22R (2.4L) with 40L tank = 250kms

97 4runner 3.4L with 65L tank = 450 kms.

BTW both have larger than stock tires..:D
