it will take a lot of fab work not a weekend job can be done but not a motor swap trans tcase axle computer all will have to be changed as well

Are you talking Ford or Chev 5L. The Ford small block is an easier fit in the XJ than a small block Chev. The Ford 5.0 is a little narrower and has the distributor in the frt. The Chev small block is very tight to fit exhaust down past the frame rails in the XJs. Both will require some fabbing skills to install they will not be "bolt ins". If you don't want to have to buy tranny or tcase adaptors you will have to find a tranny and tcase combo from a Ford or GM truck to use with the engine. All Ford 4wds will be the correct side drive for the XJ, and GM fullsizes . . . 1/2 and 3/4 ton from 88 and up and 1 tons Blazers and Suburbans from 92 and up, and all S10/S15 trucks will be the correct side drive for the XJ

Engine mounts are very simple, advance adaptors, small block mounts. $164.00 can, tranny mount for a c6 is pretty straight forward, drill three holes through the existing cross member and plate it, wiring for the carb is very simple, just 4 wire hookup and for the efi, i have no fucking clue. I am doing the same swap in my 93 yj, all ford no heep parts but the outer shell.

That's what I thought he meant. I've been lookin for years for Small Block Ford mounts for an XJ. Never ever seen anything. Should just build my own damnitt
