Looks like a nice ride ... but if your not sure about it have a good shop check it out for ya.
Spending a little $ now for an inspection can save you a whole lota grief and $ later.

So it would have 265ish Kilometers on it? For that kinda money I think you could find something better than this Reece

looks like a nice truck, i personally wouldn't buy a lifted IFS truck, unless your gonna replace everything right away.

the one moondog posted looks like a good deal though..

Why dont you get a hilux? They are about that prices landed with inspection. Solid axle hilux can still be had for about 105000yen (1200)cdn in japan. Lots of room in the ROROs. I just brought a 94 HDJ81 in for less then $6000 landed.

If you get it for a DD can you just give the Mazda back after the lease is up?

i wouldnt get it unless you can get it for much less than 4.

a) its only the 3RZ. if you're buying the taco, make it worth your while and get the 5VZ

b) hi miles. its got almost 200K miles = 315+K km = more than the 13K miles/year

c) never get anything thats first run of new redesigned models. whether it be cars, electronics, OSs, etc.

d) that dent on the PS behind the door looks alot more than 'little'

e) big ass hole in the drivers seat. i dont know about you...but i hate wife beatten trash interiors, especially when it comes to upholstery. if its some beater hyundai or POS acadian..sure.

f) by the time youve done all the paperwork and paid the 12% at the border (no duty since is made in USA), you're well into the price range for a better well equipped cdn model.

the link moondog posted has is a scam. an 02 tacoma ex cab TRD with 122k on the ticker is worth at least $10-12000. not 5. i bet if you emailed the seller, they'll go on about selling through ebay, and will give you some sob story about their life and just want to deal with ebay for less hassle.

unless you absolutely need a bed, get a 97-99 4runner. you can find one in that price range in the states. much better truck than the tacoma and can still get the rear elocker available. you'll have to pay duty though...

I have never payed 12% bringing a car in. I have only ever payed the one tax. plus the $195 RIV fee, then $100 for air contidioning, inspection fee and provincial registration fee. Always adds at least a grand to the total.

Make sure the vin starts in a 1, 2, 4, or 5 that way it is duty free. Last truck I brought in I had to pay excise tax because it was "overweight" If you can bring in the vehicle as "special purpose" it will save you all taxes and fees

d'oh...thats right...my bad. at the border, is where you pay the GST, duty (if applicable...does not apply for a tacoma) & RIV. at ICBC when you go to register it is when you pay PST.

for a road legal vehicle, it'd have to be inspected of course, and cant regi/insure without the inspection. i think off road only use, or salvage/parts only titles would save you all taxes.

3RZ rocks, I'd sooner swap that in my truck than a pig 4.3 or 5VZ.
