Sweet diff carnage. This is the first diff I've blown so I though I'd do it right! 33/9.5R15 on a original '89 cookoo clock limited slip with 3.73's I fully expected this!

I was up sylvester road and I just "punched it" in a puddle after a day of wheeling through some "big" washouts I'll try and find pics of the washouts.

I am now looking for a new diff assembly to "roll in" if you know of one...

I passed you guys that day, it hit the puddle, and all I could smell was gear oil, that sucks man

12-20-2009, 03:30 PM
Yup! I saw you guys go past as I was waiting for my friend and his trailer to pick me up. Thinking of fixing, selling and getting a taco...

12-20-2009, 04:09 PM
Yea we saw the truck and trailer coming up, we thought the tow truck was coming up for you guys, was it not?

12-20-2009, 04:13 PM
Nope, tow trucks cost too much. I have a friend with a tandem axle tipper trailer that I now owe a favor. Yup broke at about 3 and had help on the way by 330 got out about 6ish.

did the semi floaters have that fantastic gov locker?

i know the 14 bolts have them as they are known as "gov-bombs"

12-21-2009, 10:22 PM
I had never heard of a gov locker, so i googled it. And that sounds like whats in that diff. I expected it to blow at some time as it was getting noisy when it was engaging. Too bad I didnt get a spare in time!

12-21-2009, 10:46 PM
yup that was us too!

Thanks alot, he's a good buddy of mine, he's not on the site but he told me about it the other day
