View Full Version : DUALLY CONVERSION
12-09-2009, 06:55 PM
Right now I have a 1997 Ford F-250 3/4 ton 4x4 (HD) old body style. I want to convert it to a dually should I get adapters or get the actual dually axle. Im not looking at gaining more payload just stability oh forgot to mention the box is getting tossed and getting a flatdeck so the fender will not be a issue. I heard that adapters is a bad idea and that i should go for the axles but cost is a concern so what do u think. btw thanks in advance for any help.

I have a set of addapters but they use the 5/8 bolts. Do you have the rims already?
st10.25 have the same u-joints.
Going to a dana axle will adversly affect your abs.
where are you?

Not really. if you have a full floater axle you'll be fine. I wouldn't be puting 3 or 4 yards of gravel in the box, but you'r frame would flex before the axle failed.

Ford uses the 10.25 in the one tones. so just adapters is all you need.

do you already have a flatdeck for your truck? ive got one that i wanna get rid of, and just get a box. its on a dually (which are all long boxes) so maybe you wanna trade box for deck depending on the condition of the box... let me know. its all steel with wood decking and towing reciever built in, L.E.D. lights, 2 under deck lock boxes.
