I dont know if its just me but everything Fenco I buy at lordco either fails ion the first year or just after warranty. Is it just me? Fenco stuff just seems to have a high failure rate (waterpumps, bearings, etc.)

years ago they had reman axles with square cut retainer clips, so when you went to change one you'd have to split the trans to get em out. shitiots. I am boycotting there crap

Yup, I gave up on installing Fenco reman axles long time ago, 1 out of 5 might be quiet and I remember the Mazda problems with the axles not coming back out. Installed a reman rack in a Grand am and watched it fill up both bellows with ps fluid. Many more horror stories from them.

Pretty sure they have a bunch of kindergarten kids assembling their reman products.

Fenco does seem be worse than other brands, but now days everything you buy is junk. Its all money motivated by the consumer to make things less expensive. With that everything has gotten cheep. Because of this, you can't buy quality at any price, anywhere. Even at the dealer level, they have their parts that they sell, and parts that come on the car, and the quality of the replacwment parts a lot of the time is less than what your replacing. The only thing I do now, is buy the best warantee. Because of the cost of shipping, there is now a lot of New aftermarket stuff available, and most, if not all of it comes with lifetime warrantee. Its still all crapp, but now your just out time, not time and money.

well i agree fenco is not one of there better brands that lordco carries, but you do have choices when you go to the counter and ask for parts . fenco is priced the lowest so more people by it , next time spend a little more and pick a better line or the one with the best warranty.

FUCK LORDCO!!!!!!!!!
:dontknow: lordco is only the middle man they dont make the parts

have you ever walked in and got service right away? l used to spend a lot of money in there and now l will only go in the door if l have no other choice. l have had enough of standing around for some one to finish there chat on msn (l used to go to school with one of the counter guys and yeah they are on there all the time), or friendly chat with someone else. + getting the wrong part or telling me that product doesn't exist when it does. granted not all of the employees are that bad. but customer service is not one of there strong points.

Go to lordco is you wish to be ignored by the staff, wander around looking for prices, Get a "discount" on what you buy and be prepared to return 1/2 of the crap you buy there because the dushbag behing the counter is a total moron and sold you crappy wrong parts. :ballsmack :ballsmack :ballsmack :ballsmack

it is pretty hard to get good staff when you pay fuck all and have to choose from the idiots that apply. kinda like getting mad at the drivethru girls at TimHortons when you know they do not give a fuck about their job or your oddball special request orders (making them go list what donuts are on the shelf is my personal favourite drive thru show, you know you are getting extra spit in your coffee for that)

back in the day guys that were into cars worked at auto parts stores, not so anymore

Maple Ridge folks are lucky in that there are a few capable parts people there
I still try and show up with the part numbers for anything I want
rockauto.com is great for that and it also lets you know what the part is really worth if you can wait a week for shipping to a US ShipHappens type place. rockauto.com is great

many times I have been told "no such thing"
brake banjo bolts, for instance, do not exist
and a ford IPVR the guy swore there was no such thing, then when I gave him the part number he had one in stock
my brother tryed to see if they had wheel bolts in stock for a BMW, after working through that BMW uses bolts and not nuts the last question was "Front or rear wheel?"...I would have said 'one of each' just to fuck with him
motor mounts for a 78 bronco, 'do you want the 351 or 400 mounts?' at lordco the 78 bronco came with a 351W apparently so if you want mounts that fit be sure to answer 400 to that question

do your homework before going to the counter and the results are better, not great but more entertaining at least

lol I love going to Lordco for the basic tune up stuff for my car.....owning an older Gm and all I do prefer to use ACDelco plugs....and since I do the plugs once a year (I put massive miles on the car) it doesn't take the 160,000K platniums but just the standard level stuff....and sadly I know the exact part number for my spark makers....the idiot behind the counter, usually a kid asks me the usual year n make n model shit but I tell him no....I'd like to order by number and then the goofus maximus gets the deer in the headlights look on his face....And since I work for a shop that has access to their online ordering system I've also obtained the numbers for a wire set if I need to replace it.....nothing like fucking with the new kid :)

And no, I would NEVER put a Fenco re-man product in my car......useless crap.

I work at Lordco, and previously worked at a shop. We had lots of troubles there with Fenco Re-man water pumps. Never had an issue with the calipers though. I do try and steer customers away from the Fenco stuff because I know it's crap. There are other options at least.

As for the "dumb" folks behind the counter. Yea there's gonna be a few. Just kids off the street that wanted a job. Don't know jack about cars. It's almost worth being shortstaffed than havin those kids around. But look at Canadian Tire, and Napa..they hire the same kids.

I was a counter guy for years, Cal-Van anybody remember them? Got bought out by the Overlord(co). Was a fun place to work with very knowledgeable counter guys! Was a store for gear heads for sure, saw alot of cool rides get built over the years. After the buy out all the good counter men left and took rep. jobs and such, and the ones that stuck behind are as useless as the kids off the street. I live in Mission and I kick myself every time I've got to go to Lordco, most of the time I'll drive to the M.R. store guys there are more helpful and knowledgeable.

I only deal with Deckers here in Surrey, and RockAuto.

Gary will have whatever I need on the counter when I get off work if I call before noon. I've had one wrong part only because I had a friend who didn't listen to what I said call it in while I was busy tearing down my axle.

If it's something I can wait for I get it off rock auto. I get it shipped to TLC in Point Roberts(always there anywhere since the gf lives in tsawassen).

Lordco's last straw was telling me they had a sensor in stock and then telling me they have it in hand when I asked them to be sure it was there and after walking 30 mins to get there finding out that they didn't even check the computer since there was nothing in stock. That was over a year ago. The only reason I've been in there since was because I got a gift card at the Langley Cruise In..

I have been in parts for over 10 years and I have dealt with pretty much every brand out there.
With the exception of Fenco's reman'd water pumps (which are garbage) their parts aren't any better or worse then any of the other brands. For CV axles we are now carrying Cardone they are 100% new and we havent had any problems with them in the last probably about a year since we started carrying them.
Whoever it was that said NGK and Bosch electrical are garbage needs to give their head a shake that's two of the best brands out there.

bosch electric alternators are total junk. not just a little bit, but complete fucking garbage.
yes I am pissed that I paid $400 for a pos
they are not even accepted as a core at an electrical shop, straight to the trash can.
Bosch mismatch the cheapest garbage and mod the case to stuff it together.
I admit the brand name helped Lordco take the $400 outa my wallet, but I learned my lesson.

NGK V groove plugs are awesome, if you want chips of the eltectrode material floating around in the combustion chamber.

Fram has a great Brand Awareness as well, doesnt make them "the best brands out there"

Yea at my Lordco store we're dropping all the Fenco we can, and if we don't we bring in lots of another brand (AC Delco calipers for example) Most of our Fenco stuff has been replaced by Cardone now.

My only experience with Fenco is with thier clutches, and it wasn't good experience. I went through two in three months, and then decided to be done with that junk. Then I put in a Napa house brand which was also quite inexpensive and it lasted the remaining two years that I owned the truck, and the guy I sold it to had no problems with it for the roughly two years that he owned it .In short Fenco can go fuck yourself themselves. [cheers]
