Don't listen to Eric, Larry . I used to comute in a TJ and it was no worse than my XJ I used to commute Mission to Langley 5 days a week and would only use 50-60 bucks a week. Space isn't an issue either as long as there is enough room for your lunch and coffee cup your good (it's only a comuter after all). Mine did have a hard top but it only went on for the winter and security was never a problem. In fact I miss it that much that I am looking for a 2004 - 2006 TJ Rubicon to use as a comuter/camping rig again [cheers]

They ride rough, are not that comfortable on long drives and bein stuck in traffic. They are noisy on the highway. Dont get me wrong though, buyin my jeep was the best thing I ever did, but I so enjoy not drivin it everyday.

definately not true, a 4 liter pushing a non aerodynamic box down the road does not prove fuel effiecient. I wouldnt recommend ANY jeep for a DD. my 1980 350 gmc seirra gets equal or maybe even better fuel economy than my jeep. jeeps are really a true 4x4, and thats it. nothing special on the road

Okay guys, My jeep has a 304=V8 5 speed tranny and I fill up the tank and good for the week and yes its my daily driver.

It will all depend on how you drive besides we all know that if you drive a ford the only reason they sometimes get good milage is because their on the side of the road broke down, waiting for a jeep to come by and help them out.

if you plan on building it later, then by all means go for it, it wont be bad on gas mileage if you drive it respectably
