I wouldn't bother buying it unless you are just planning on using it for a weekend warrior.....If your planning on using it for a DD I hope you have a BIG thick wallet........ 460CID @ $1.06L = too broke to drive it and fix it.....

And from personal experience.......parked trucks always need more work than you bargain for......

$1000 tops, it would be more worth while if it was 70's

Just saw this, You really want to watch out on these trucks, I think it was either 1980 or 81 that they have what is called the "swiss cheese frame", basically ford thought it was a great idea to put a whole bunch of holes in the frame as a weight saving possibly cost saving measure. It was only one model year they pulled this off before they changed it. So if it had one of those frames stay away.

yup....swiss cheese frames did come out in 80, but only on the F100 series not the F150 or F250 trucks.

are you sure? my 1980 f250 had this as wel.

and if the trucks been sitting, has just a body lift, and some pretty cancerous rust, dont pay even 1500...... theres plenty on craigslist right now that are better deals.

mid 90s ford trucks mint paint with lifts and 300cid with 5speeds for over and under 2grand.

Pretty sure all 1980 frames had the swiss cheese frame. I wrecked a 1980 f250 4x4 had a frame like that.

Well.....Looks like I was wrong...:dontknow: ..did some more research, it would appear that 1980 150's and 250's also had the swiss cheese frame.

My dad used a swiss cheese f100 as a hunting truck for years, the super flexy frame kept the wheels on the ground but it looked like it had a broken back going through cross ditches...

It's an old ford, Its going to need work. Weld some patches in on the rear of the frame, Take the starter out. clean it, lube it, check the brushes, Fix the coroded wiring, Valve cover leak is an easy fix. Get a new fuel tank, Fix the sending unit while your in there. Cant complain 1500 for a running 460 and the rest of the truck.
