Dave I would seriously advise you to run away from it, get a 96 or newer 4 runner instead or be prepared to keep your wallet open... Called exploders for a reason[cheers]

I would love to do that Danny but the price is right $3500 4Runners will be double that [cheers]

Fords suck....espcially exploders.

you can pick up a good 4 runner for 4000.

auto trannys are good for nothing more than a boat anchor in the explorers , 5 speed are reliable

Take everybody's advice the trannys are horrible and a 4runners are a better option and will be waaayyyy cheaper in the long run

yea the transmissions arent very good in them. Most of the ones I see advertised either say it's cheap because it needs a transmission, or just had one replaced, haha.

With the proper care and maintenance, they're actually not that bad. My buddy with an sas'd exploder has really used his rig quite extensively and his tranny is still going strong. I on the other hand tend to be quite hard on my exploder and as such kill trannies rather frequently.

The front suspention is expensive to fix and the 4L is not vary good on gas.

I'd never buy an explorer that'd be like gettin married to a bitchy and ugly chick.
If you want somethin solid and cheap I might have somethin you guys would be interested in
