So after Banff continued along to Yoho national park. I've never camped in a national park before definitely different than the camping i'm used to. First if you plan to do any stopping in a national park you need to have a user permit - prices vary by park - permits can only be purchased at a specific location in the park, not at each point of interest

Stopped to check out the engineering marvel of the spiral tunnels

To be honest i thought this was a bit of a disapointment - the trees have grown (wierd i know) and are now obstructing the view of the tunnel - i know its a national park and they are probably against cutting trees - but really whats the point of an "point of interest" if you can't see it :dontknow:

a different angle - i read these are the second highest falls in Canada

When i was in Calgary they had some bad weather they had a horrible storm the night before i left and a tornado the day before that. When i last saw the weather forecast they were calling for thunderstorms - i was not happy to see these clouds in camp - twas a stormy rainy night - neat experience for sure (the kind you only need to experience once)

Maybe it was the weather or fires but everywhere i when i kinda got all to myself

the gondola up

in the summer kicking horse is known for mountain biking but they also have a few ridge walk trails

the nearby fires and cloudy weather made it difficult to see the sea of mountains but you really feel like you are at the top of the world up there

the resort also has a grizzly bear refuge - you can take a chairlift up to the refuge to visit Boo

thanks - with the fires and the weather (thunderstorms) i kinda altered my trip - i will be heading back up that way for sure. There is so much to see and do up there. I hoping to go next year but do a small circle trip on a bike

The eagle eye is so much more beautiful during the winter. It makes it easier to see all the different mountain ranges.

Nice shots, next time you go across the Galena bay ferry, you should detour up through Trout lake. Some incredible scenery up that valley.
