go to costco and get the 10000 winch from there it is 469 and comes with a reciver mount and a snatch block and a great warenty. I have one and love it . It works great.

You must have gotten lucky, I'm on my second one and the handle that you spin for line in/out is hooped, it won't even hold a load on the end anymore. But when it did work, it did so flawlessly :D

they work great and if you break it take it back no questions asked. Costco rocks

I hope so, this'll be winch #3 that I've returned, started out with an 8000lb that blew a motor, traded straight up for the 10,000, but the same thing happened with the handle that my current one is doing. At least I have a decent warn 9.5ti for the ranger. Doesn't help that it's not mounted and sitting in the garage! :D

is it bad when your winch is older than your truck is?
I have a warn M-6000. seems to do me fine

if you look around you can find the 8274 for a few hundred bucks in good shape. i paid 250 for mine and i have known several folks paid similer not to mention seen several for the same price. the good thing about the 8274 is that you can always rebuild it for very little and it is easy to find support .
