View Full Version : queen Charlotte's fishing trip

We just got back from a 3 day fishing trip on the West Coast of the Queen Charlotte Island. The fishing was incredible. Too many stories to tell but here are a few of the pictures I took between fishing.

This is how we arrive at the floating fishing Barge

Jeepnut got himself a new Indian name. Johnnypukesallot. Unfortunately he was sea sick the whole time but that didnít slow him down too much on the fishing.

My dad catching a nice spring

Here is Johhnypukesallot catching a fine spring

Hey Johnnypukesallot if you hold it away from you it will ake the fish look bigger

Here is a picture of a mud shark we caught.

Here is my Dad with one of two of the 50 plus pound Halibuts

Here is me with the other 50 pounder Halibut

If you catch anything over 50 pounds you can a pin for your hat and you have to gong the Gong!......hey pukesallot where is your pin?

Here is a pic of one of the two cut and washed Hailbuts

Stacking the Hali deep

Those are going to be tasty. They Cut, clean, vacuum pack and flash freeze your catch as soon as you get to the dock

Just a night shot of the boats

Here is the first of three loads of fish boxes heading out. Most people caught their limit and then some

Another dock shot. They make sure your boat is ready to go each time you come in.

The guide Ė Me- My dad. There is a lot less work to do on the boat when the guideís onboard.

Here is one of my favorite shots. Here bro John is reeling in a salmon, Iím netting it and my dad is on board. This show what most of the trip was like. Memories we will have forever!

This has been the best fishing trip I’ve ever been on.

Some of the other things that happened while out on the water. As I was reeling in the halibut a 7 foot shark swam around the catch twice. That was pretty intense. I also hooked into a large salmon Shark and was fighting it in when it made a dash to a boat in front. The guide yelled at the other boat to move but the line was chopped by his prop.

It is nice to have the guide along but I perfered to have the boat to myself with two lines out. the odds to land the fish in the boat go way down but I just like the challenge in doing everything myself.

I spent alot of time this way

We got a pretty big discount because my dad knows the owner. Pricey for sure but the three of us together on a trip like this was priceless.....worth every penny

That's awesome guy's. My dad, bother and I went on dad's boat three years in a row. It was a great time. We never usually had any sickness on the boat, it was after when we got home that we would feel a little funny.

I heard john was causing shit in the bar and had to leave

Looks deadly. Good time for sure.

We went to ucuelet....private plane, huge room with loft, 50'+ dual diesel boats, rods, gear, fish all geared up and taken care of for just over $300 for 3 days 2 nights.

Princess something or other .....in the province all the time.

i was working in the charolettes this summer at samson fishing lodge, i was the dock staff, i woulda been cleaing your boat and gasin it up give you more tackle and bait. it was a great time and a great experience, i think it would be way better from a guests point of view tho
