View Full Version : W100 Power wagon no spark thouble shooting

Just pick up a power wagon 76, I have no spark from the dist. I do have current to the coil and I replaced the neg wire to the coil and check for continuity. I think itís the coil.

I have be doing some research and found out that the power wagon run 9-10 volt coil with a ballast resister to step down the current. Has anyone put a 12 volt coil in and rewired the ignitions?
I also read that the dodge power wagon canít take 12 volts to the main harness because it fries wires and components. Any info would be great [36]

use a regular test light and while cranking check for power on the + terminal of the coil for power and pulsing on the - terminal if you have power on the + side and no pulsing just steady power on the - side then your points need attention or the wire comming from the dist to the coil has a break in it.

It was ballast resistor plus coil. replaced alternator and voltage regulator and ignition wires as well. got a tone of rewiring to do in this truck should be fun.
